Prof. Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party and Member of National Integration Council joined thousands of farmers at Vijay Ghat, Memorial Site of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri to pay tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birthday, this day.In his tributes to Gandhi ji and Shastri ji, the NPP leader said that the farmers are the backbone of democracy in India as they form 85% of the total population of the country. He said that the present governments in the Centre and the States are the produce of farmers’ votes whereas the farmers continue to be deprived of their basic fundamental rights to live with dignity and freedom. He said as long as farmers remain deprived of their right to live a dignified life the independence shall have no meaning. He accused the politicians exploiting the farmers in the name of religion and caste whereas the farmers have been most secular class for thousands of years.

He said two major parties in the country, the Congress and the BJP have been responsible for the social conflict and economic discrimination as the leadership of both the parties have been using money and muscle power during the election which is evident from the history of elections and power tussle since 1947. Prof. Bhim Singh in his address said that 80% soldiers in the Army and police constables are from farmers’ class. They have been doing menial jobs in the Govt. departments and were never given the opportunity to share responsibility in the administration at the highest level. He said the real tributes to Gandhi ji and Shastri ji shall be to join the movement launched by National Panthers Party to carry the Ultimate Revolution so that justice and equity flow to every door and every human being in the country. The Chairman of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, Shri Rishipal Ambawata invited Prof. Bhim Singh to lead the farmers in the country towards real freedom from exploitation and hunger. Mr. Ambawata declared that 11 farmers associations from all over India have decided to forge a common front in the country and invited Prof. Bhim Singh to lead the movement. Several kisan leaders from all over the country participated in the programme at Vijay Ghat, New Delhi.
