The Jammu and Kashmir Police in a major breakthrough arrested two accused involved in acid attack case on a girl student on 11th of this month around 10:30AM in Nowshehra area of West City Soura Srinagar.Addressing a Media Conference in Srinagar, Inspector General of Police A.G Mir said that On the basis of investigation, one suspect Irshad Ahmad Wani @ Sunny of Wazir Bagh Srinagar was apprehended who seems to have been stalking the victim and her movements.“He was detained and his sustained interrogation elicited a vital clue which led to the arrest of the other suspect Mohammad Omar of Bemina Srinagar,” IGP added.

Meanwhile, Irshad, who was turned out to be the mastermind in planning this crime, had been stalking the victim for quite some time and following her movements closely. His advances being spurned left him in a vengeful huff. He roped in his friend and business partner Omar to be a part of this crime who was both sympathetic as well as lured by promised financial gains.In a meantime, the attack was carried out on 11th of December and an acid attack case was registered in Soura Police Station. An FIR no. 136/14 of PS Soura u/s 326A was registered immediately and investigation was set into motion under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Hazratbal  Rayees Mohammad Bhat.
