Punjab Government was committed to the welfare of Ex-servicemen and every possible facility would be provided to Ex-servicemen,their families and dependents.This was disclosed here today Prof. Virsa Singh Valtoha, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Defence Services Welfare Punjab while presiding over the first meeting of officers of Directorate and all District Sainik Welfare Officers at Chandigarh. Prof. Valtoha directed the officers of the department to discharge their duties with honesty and sincerity. He emphasized that the benefits of welfare schemes run by the department for the welfare of Ex-Servicemen, should reach to the eligible persons and for this beneficiaries should not face any type of harassment. He specially mentioned about the maintenance of Sainik Rest Houses of District.  C.Raul, Principal Secretary Defence Services Welfare Punjab briefed the Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Punjab about the on going  work of the Department, the welfare schemes run by Punjab/Centre Govt. for the welfare of Ex-servicemen, their dependents and other works of the Department. He also highlighted the work/progress of Sainik Vocational training Centers and Pre-recruitment training centers run at Directorate as well as District level.Earlier the meeting, Brig (Retd) Manjit Singh, Director Sainik Welfare, Punjab welcomed the Prof Valtoha and introduced him to all the District Sainik Welfare Officers.
