Daljeet Singh Cheema Asks Punjab School Board Not To Charge Fee From SC Students

Includes Senior Secondary Students First Time Into The Ambit Of Post Matric Scheme

Punjab Education Minister Dr. Daljeet Singh Cheema has given strict directives to Education Board for implementation of Post Matric Scholarship Scheme in true spirit besides not charging fee from eligible Scheduled Castes students under this scheme.In a communiqué to Secretary Education Board Dr. Cheema conveyed not to charge fee examination fee from SC students having annual income less than 2.5 lakh. He said Punjab has also decided to induct students of class XII to the fold of Post Matric Scheme and in future examination fee from these students could not be charged. He said concerned authorities would send total demand of fee to Director Education (senior Secondary) so that they could further send the same to Welfare Department for disbursement of payments. Dr. Cheema asked all authorities to implement Post Matric Scholarship scheme in true spirit so that maximum eligible students could take its advantage.
