The Cabinet which met here under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah authorized the Revenue Department to issue the necessary notification as required under Section-5 of the Jammu and Kashmir Land Revenue Act, with regard to the determination of geographical / territorial limits of the new and the adjoining existing administrative units as per the details alongwith amendments /modifications. The Minister incharge Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation was authorized to order changes in the geographical boundaries and headquarters of the new administrative units, wherever necessary.
It also advised the Rural Development Department to complete the necessary exercise and place the case before the Cabinet in its next meeting for consideration.
