Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday said that Mewat, once associated with neglect and backwardness, is today emerging as a symbol of development, trust and new opportunities under the transparent and people-centric governance of the double-engine government.

Expressing confidence in the region's future, he said that in the years ahead, when Haryana's development story is told, people will remember Mewat for rewriting history. He asserted that the government's transparent governance and welfare-oriented policies have ushered in unprecedented transformation across every sector, and that Mewat's development journey will now gather even greater momentum.

Launching a sharp attack on the Congress, the Chief Minister said that the party, which ruled the country for 55 years, has run out of issues and is now attempting to further its political interests in the name of the youth. He said everyone is aware of how examination papers were leaked during the Congress regime, how the culture of parchi-kharchi prevailed, and how generations of young aspirants were repeatedly betrayed.

He alleged that Rahul Gandhi is now trying to revive his party's declining political fortunes by invoking the concerns of the youth. In contrast, he said, Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi has made it clear that the interests of the country's youth are paramount, which is why even officials and employees of the National Testing Agency (NTA) were dismissed to uphold accountability.

The Chief Minister was addressing the Mewat Vikas Sankalp Rally at Punhana in Mewat on Saturday. The rally was organised by Chaudhary Javed Khan, who accorded the Chief Minister a warm welcome and honoured him with a traditional turban. Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister,  Rao Narbir Singh was also present.

Paying tributes to martyr Hasan Khan Mewati, the Chief Minister said that Mewat, which had endured decades of neglect, is today emerging as a symbol of development, trust and new opportunities. He said the transparent functioning of the double-engine government and its people-centric policies have ushered in unprecedented transformation across every sector, including roads, education, healthcare, drinking water, employment and women's empowerment.

He said the vision of Viksit Bharat can only be realised when every region of Haryana, including Mewat, becomes an integral part of the mainstream development process. The coming era belongs to Mewat, and this journey of development will now move ahead with even greater speed, he said.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that, in the years ahead, Mewat would write a new chapter in Haryana's development story. He said India's identity lies in its diversity, but its greatest strength is its unity. Mewat is a living reflection of that India, where despite different traditions, dialects and ways of life, our hearts are one, our Tricolour is one, and Bharat Mata is one. This unity is our greatest strength and our most valuable asset, he said.

Welcoming the women, senior citizens and youth present at the rally, the Chief Minister said he had come to give a new direction to Punhana's development. He said that while post-Independence India had limited resources, it was rich in aspirations.

The country's forefathers laid the foundation of nation-building despite difficult circumstances, and it is now the responsibility of the present generation to realise the vision of a Developed India under the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi.

He said the road to a Developed India does not pass only through Delhi or Chandigarh, but also through Punhana, Ferozepur Jhirka, Taoru, Nagina and every village of Mewat. Expressing confidence in the region's immense potential, he said Mewat can emerge as a new model of development, and the government, with the support of the people, is committed to fulfilling this vision.

*Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas' Is the Foundation of Mewat's Development- Chief Minister*

The Chief Minister said politics was once confined to electoral promises, but today governance is no longer about power, it is about service. The government's objective, he said, is to ensure that every eligible citizen receives the benefits of welfare schemes, every needy person has access to essential services, and every family becomes a partner in development.

He said the guiding principle of the double-engine government under Prime Minister, Sh.  Narendra Modi is Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas, and that this philosophy is laying the foundation for Mewat's progress.

Highlighting the aspirations of young people, the Chief Minister said today's youth seek opportunities, and the government is committed to helping them realise their dreams. New avenues are being created for the youth of Mewat in emerging sectors such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital technology, start-ups, drones, modern agriculture and skill development, enabling them to play a leading role in India's growth story.

He further said the future of any society is reflected in the smiles of its daughters. When a girl becomes educated and self-reliant, the entire society grows stronger. With this vision, the government is continuously working to empower women through better education, security, healthcare and dignity.

*Punhana Has Witnessed a New Pace of Development Since 2014- Chief Minister*

The Chief Minister said nation-building is not merely about the present but about shaping a better future for coming generations. Just as earlier generations planted trees keeping the future in mind, the double-engine government is sowing the seeds of development and trust in Mewat today, whose benefits will be enjoyed by generations to come.

He recalled that there was a time when the very mention of Mewat evoked images of backwardness rather than development. The region remained neglected for decades. However, he said, when intentions are honest, policies are clear and leadership is driven by a spirit of public service, history itself changes direction.

Today, Mewat is forging a new identity. Roads are reaching every village, drinking water infrastructure is being strengthened, new opportunities for higher education are being created for girls, healthcare facilities are expanding, and new avenues for employment and self-employment are opening up for the youth. This transformation is a living testament to the people's trust and the government's commitment, he said.

Referring to the recently declared results of the Mewat Cadre teacher recruitment, the Chief Minister said that 32 candidates from the region secured selection purely on merit, without any recommendation or bribery, demonstrating the transparency of the recruitment process.

*Chief Minister Questions Transparency of Punjab Recruitment Process*

The Chief Minister also raised questions over the recently conducted Excise Inspector recruitment process in Punjab, alleging a lack of transparency. He claimed that candidates with names that had attracted widespread public attention had reportedly figured in the selection list, raising serious doubts about the integrity of the recruitment process.

He said that while the Aam Aadmi Party had already been voted out of power in Delhi and claimed to represent "hardcore honesty" in Punjab, the recent Excise Inspector recruitment, the results of which were declared five days ago, reflected how the youth were allegedly being deceived. He further alleged that the Congress-INDI alliance was misleading the people and betraying public trust.

Highlighting Haryana's own recruitment process, the Chief Minister said that 1,494 candidates were selected under the Mewat Cadre and challenged anyone to prove that even a single candidate or their family had spent "five paise" to secure employment.

He said the BJP government has ensured transparent recruitment and provided government jobs purely on merit. Over the past one-and-a-half years, 50,000 youth have been given government jobs without any recommendation or bribery, taking the total number of government jobs provided during the last 12 and half  years to nearly two lakh.

He also noted that the Common Eligibility Test (CET) had been conducted successfully and its results had already been declared. The Chief Minister further said that 1.20 lakh youth appointed through the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam have been provided employment security.

To facilitate better educational and employment opportunities abroad, the government has established the Department of Foreign Cooperation and the Haryana Overseas Employment Cell.He added that legislation has been enacted to curb illegal immigration agents and the so-called "dunki route", while 1.58 lakh youth have so far received skill training to help them secure dignified and safe employment overseas.

*Prime Minister Has Identified Mewat for Focused Development*

The Chief Minister said the double-engine government is working relentlessly to accelerate development across the country. Guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision that districts lagging behind in development should receive special attention, Mewat has been identified as a priority region for focused development.

He said the government's objective is not merely to meet present-day needs but to build a prosperous, educated and self-reliant Mewat for future generations. He called upon society to rise above politics, strengthen communal harmony, keep youth away from drug abuse, transform education into a people's movement, and make water conservation and environmental protection mass public campaigns.

Expressing confidence in Mewat's future, the Chief Minister said that when Haryana's development story is narrated in the years to come, people will say, Mewat changed history. They chose development over despair, trust over division, and participation over complaints. With this faith, energy and collective strength, Mewat will script a new chapter of development and leave behind a legacy that the entire nation will be proud of, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.

*BJP Government Committed to Ensuring Balanced Development Across Mewat and Every Region of Haryana- Rao Narbir Singh*

Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh said that since 2014, the Bharatiya Janata Party government has been working on the principle of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas", giving equal priority to the development of every region of the state. He said no region or section of society has faced discrimination in the implementation of development schemes.

Appealing to the people to support the BJP, he said that if the region elects its own representative, its concerns and aspirations would be represented more effectively. Referring to an assessment that found tree cover in the area to be among the lowest in the state, he urged people to undertake large-scale plantation during the forthcoming monsoon season.

The Cabinet Minister said there was a time when Gurugram too lacked significant industrial development. However, the arrival of companies such as Maruti and DLF transformed the city's economic landscape. Similarly, he said, the government is now promoting cluster-based industrial development in the Mewat region. He expressed confidence that IMT Sohna and industry-led employment opportunities would transform the region's future.

Rao Narbir Singh said the government is making sustained efforts to accelerate the development of Mewat and create employment opportunities for its youth. As Industries Minister, he said he has encouraged industries to ensure that newly established industrial units give priority to local youth in employment. He added that young people lacking the required technical qualifications are being equipped with the necessary skills through various skill development and training programmes to enhance their employability.

He said the State Government's objective is to accelerate industrial growth in every district, attract greater investment and generate employment opportunities at the local level. Ensuring that the benefits of various government welfare schemes reach the last person remains the BJP government's highest priority.

*Haryana Is Progressing Rapidly Under the Double-Engine Government- Nauksham Chaudhary*

Addressing the public meeting,  MLA from Kaman in Rajasthan and a daughter of Punhana, Nauksham Chaudhary said Haryana is witnessing rapid development under the BJP's double-engine government. She expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini and Union Home Minister Sh. Amit Shah for the water-sharing agreement for the Shekhawati belt.

The MLA said governments changed six times, yet a three-decade-old demand remained unfulfilled. However, under the leadership of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the BJP government in Haryana fulfilled that long-pending demand.

She also urged the government to prepare a Master Plan for Punhana and establish a university in the region to strengthen higher education. The Chief Minister assured her that these demands would be addressed.Ms. Nauksham Chaudhary also thanked the Chief Minister for the recruitment of more than 1,400 teachers under the Mewat cadre.

*Congress Did Nothing for Mewat; People Now Look to the BJP with Hope- Chaudhary Javed Khan*

Welcoming the Chief Minister, rally organiser Chaudhary Javed Khan said Mewat has always been a land of rich history and sacrifice. He said the people of Mewat have made immense contributions to the nation and never hesitated to confront Babur.

During the First War of Independence in 1857, too, the region's brave sons laid down their lives for the country. He added that the people of Mewat also played their part in 1947, but regretted that in independent India they received little except disappointment.

Chaudhary Javed Khan said the region had remained steadfastly loyal to the Congress Party, supporting it for 35 of the last 75 years. Although the Congress consistently projected itself as the well-wisher of the people of Mewat, no meaningful development took place in the region. Schools, roads, healthcare facilities and other basic infrastructure remained inadequate.

Expressing confidence in the BJP government, he said all the assurances given to him by Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini over the past four months have been fulfilled. He expressed confidence that the region would witness rapid development in the years ahead.

Haryana Waqf Board Chief Executive Officer,  Zakir Hussain, District President Sh. Surender Singh, District In-charge Samay Singh Bhati, Nuh Zila Parishad Chairman Sh. Jan Mohammad, former MLA, Naseem Ahmad, former Minister Sh. Sanjay Singh and other distinguished dignitaries also remained present on this occasion.
