Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of nine development projects worth Rs. 14,721 crore in Jind, including flagging off the country's first hydrogen fuel-powered passenger train. With this landmark initiative, Haryana has emerged as the pioneer of India's green transport revolution.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister  also dedicated to the nation the Haryana section of the Delhi–Jammu–Katra Expressway,  constructed at a cost of nearly Rs. 9,681 crore. One of India's flagship infrastructure projects, the expressway will provide faster, safer and seamless connectivity between the National Capital and Jammu & Kashmir.

Its commissioning is expected to improve connectivity across several districts of Haryana, reduce travel time and provide a significant boost to trade, industry, tourism and freight movement. The Prime Minister also inaugurated the 33.81-km Ambala–Kala Amb National Highway,  constructed at a cost of approximately Rs. 1,184 crore.

The project will strengthen road connectivity between Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and other parts of northern India. He further inaugurated the 40.60-km Jind–Gohana National Highway,  built at a cost of around Rs. 1,606 crore.

In addition, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of the 24.27-km Hansi–Barwala National Highway,  to be developed at an estimated cost of Rs. 135 crore. Collectively, these road projects will strengthen regional and inter-district connectivity while providing commuters with safer, smoother and faster travel.

It marks another important step towards strengthening modern urban transport infrastructure.
