Haryana Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij today directed the Superintending Engineer (SE) of the Public Health Engineering Department to conduct an inquiry into allegations of negligence against a foreman and three tube well operators and submit a report within seven days. The directions were issued while the Minister was hearing public grievances at his residence in Ambala Cantonment.

A complaint was submitted by Ward No. 10 Councillor Raman Chhatwal, alleging that a foreman in the Public Health Engineering Department and his three relatives, who are employed as tube well operators, were not performing their official duties properly. It was further alleged that the foreman was assigning the operators to his personal work, adversely affecting drinking water supply in the area.

Additional allegations were also levelled against the foreman and the operators. Taking serious note of the matter, Sh. Vij instructed the department's SE to conduct a detailed inquiry and submit a report within seven days.

Family of Borewell Victim Meets Minister Vij

The family members of Nirvair Singh, the young boy who recently lost his life after falling into a borewell in Dhanyora village, met Sh. Anil Vij and sought justice. They alleged that despite the tragic incident, the police had not taken effective action against those responsible. Sh. Vij assured the bereaved family that appropriate action would be taken in the matter.

Minister Directs Registration of Case in Domestic Violence Complaint

A married woman from Ambala Cantonment approached Sh. Anil Vij with a complaint stating that she was married in Ludhiana a few years ago and has a five-year-old son. She alleged that her husband had been physically assaulting her and was involved in an extramarital relationship.

After she came to know about the affair, her in-laws allegedly forced her out of the matrimonial home and refused to let her keep custody of her child. Taking serious note of the complaint, Sh. Vij directed the police to register a case and initiate appropriate legal action.

Minister Acts on Complaint of Police Inaction

In another complaint, a married woman from Ambala Cantonment informed the Minister that following a domestic dispute, she was allegedly assaulted by her husband and in-laws and thrown out of her matrimonial home. Although she had lodged a complaint at the Women's Police Station, no FIR had been registered and no action had been taken even after five months.

Sh. Vij directed the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Ambala Cantonment, to register an FIR and proceed with the case in accordance with law. During the public grievance hearing, a woman from Tundla complained of misbehaviour and harassment by her neighbours.

A family from Ghaseetpur sought action against the wife of a person who had died by suicide, while another woman from Ambala Cantonment requested assistance in rectifying an electricity meter connection. Sh. Vij directed the concerned officials to examine these complaints and take appropriate action as per rules.

Newly Appointed BJP Rural Youth In-charge Meets Minister Vij

Later, Ravi Kumar, the newly appointed Rural Youth In-charge of the BJP Rural Mandal, called on Sh. Anil Vij along with party workers to seek his blessings. Party workers raised slogans in support of the Minister during the meeting. Sh. Vij congratulated the newly appointed office-bearer and urged him to work with dedication and commitment to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.

Among those present on the occasion were Mandal President Vikas Bahgal, General Secretary Bharat Kochhar, Narendra Rana, and other party office-bearers.
