As part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Roll, a team of the Election Commission of India (ECI) held a review meeting with the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) of U.T. Chandigarh to assess the progress of SIR activities and review the implementation of the Commission’s instructions.

During the meeting, the ECI team reviewed the status of house-to-house verification, submission and digitization of Enumeration Forms (EFs), voter facilitation measures, functioning of Help Desks, grievance redressal mechanisms and other key activities being undertaken as part of the revision process.

The EROs and AEROs presented updates on the progress achieved in their respective jurisdictions and briefed the team on the measures adopted to ensure the timely completion of SIR activities. Discussions also focused on strengthening coordination among field functionaries, enhancing voter outreach and ensuring that every eligible elector is effectively facilitated during the revision process.
