The betrayal and deception of lakhs of employees and pensioners by the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government now stands fully exposed even before the Hon'ble High Court. Having come to power on the strength of false guarantees, the Aam Aadmi Party government is now shirking its responsibility to release the Dearness Allowance (DA) due to lakhs of employees and pensioners.
Punjab Bharatiya Janata party President Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon launched a sharp attack on the AAP government after the Hon'ble High Court pulled up the Punjab Government over the issue of pending DA for employees. Dhillon said that Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who made tall promises to government employees before the elections, are now wasting the court's time with frivolous arguments instead of granting employees their legitimate dues.
Lakhs of employees and pensioners across the state feel cheated today. The true face of the Kejriwal–Bhagwant Mann "U-turn Government" has been exposed before the High Court.
He said those who pretended to be champions of employees during elections are now unwilling even to face them. This amounts to stabbing lakhs of Punjab's employees and pensioners in the back.
Dhillon said that while the Narendra Modi-led Central Government and the neighbouring BJP government in Haryana ensure that their employees receive Dearness Allowance on time, the AAP government in Punjab is robbing employees of their rightful dues. The Haryana Government is providing its employees with 60% Dearness Allowance on time, whereas the Bhagwant Mann Government has, despite prolonged delays, withheld arrears of DA that has reached 42% for a long time.
Dhillon said that on one hand there are BJP governments, which provide employees with their rightful benefits and Dearness Allowance on time without employees having to agitate for them, while on the other hand stands Punjab's bankrupt government. This government has crores of rupees to spend on self-promotion and advertisements, but claims that the treasury is empty when it comes to paying hardworking employees what they rightfully deserve.
He said the High Court's reprimand has proved that the AAP government is surviving solely on falsehoods and broken promises. The employees of Punjab, he added, will give a fitting reply to this fraudulent "government of change" in the forthcoming Punjab Assembly elections.
