Punjab Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian today visited the Zila Parishad Office, Sangrur, where he was warmly received by Zila Parishad Chairman Rachhpal Singh Bhullar, Chairpersons of Block Samitis, Zila Parishad members, Sarpanches and other public representatives. During the meeting, the Cabinet Minister held comprehensive discussions with the elected representatives on the Punjab Government's public welfare initiatives, ongoing rural development works and future development priorities.

He said that Chairman Rachhpal Singh Bhullar had invited him to visit the Zila Parishad office and interact with the members. Accepting the invitation, he met the representatives and exchanged views on strengthening grassroots governance and accelerating development across rural areas. Replying to a query from the media regarding electricity supply to farmers, Gurmeet Singh Khudian reiterated that the Punjab Government remains fully committed to ensuring uninterrupted and adequate power supply to the farming community.

He said that farmers have received reliable electricity over the past four years and that extensive arrangements have been made for the current paddy season as well. In cases where technical faults have occurred, the Power Department's teams have been deployed on priority to restore supply at the earliest.

He assured that the government is making every possible effort to safeguard farmers' interests and resolve their concerns promptly. Emphasising the government's commitment to the agricultural sector, the Cabinet Minister said that agriculture is the backbone of Punjab's economy and that the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is working with unwavering dedication to strengthen the sector and ensure the welfare of farmers.

Expressing his gratitude, Zila Parishad Chairman Rachhpal Singh Bhullar said that the Cabinet Minister's visit provided elected representatives with an opportunity to directly interact with the government and gain first-hand information about its policies, welfare initiatives and development programmes, which would further strengthen grassroots development.

Among those present were Block Samiti Dhuri Chairman Ranjodh Singh; Zila Parishad members Jaspal Singh Sheron, Amisha, Amritpal Singh Ghanauri, Harvinder Singh Sekhon, Rubal Bajwa and Gagan Jawandha, along with several other public representatives.
