BJP National General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Chugh said that the dharna organised outside his Amritsar residence after Sri Akal Takht Sahib declared Bhagwant Mann a “Guru Dokhi” is an act of political desperation, moral bankruptcy and a deliberate attempt to challenge the authority of the highest institution of the Sikh Panth. He said that after patronising gangsters and allowing mafias to flourish, the Kejriwal-Bhagwant Mann duo has now stooped to insulting the dignity and sanctity of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

Tarun Chugh questioned whether staging a protest outside his residence would erase the charges framed against Bhagwant Mann by Sri Akal Takht Sahib. He said that this political drama cannot divert attention from a matter on which due inquiry has already been completed and a clear order has already been issued.

AAP owes answers to the people of Punjab instead of attempting to escape accountability. He said that the video under scrutiny has already been investigated and found to be obscene, indecent, against established maryada and gravely insulting to Guru Sahiban.

Despite this, AAP leaders continue to shamelessly defend Bhagwant Mann and are openly challenging the authority of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Punjab now deserves to know where every AAP minister, MLA and senior leader stands.

Chugh said that the real issue before Punjab is not a protest outside his residence. The real issue is that Punjab continues to suffer from drugs, unemployment, deteriorating law and order, economic distress and the growing influence of multiple mafia networks while the government remains busy with political theatrics.

Farmers, traders, employees, industrialists, women and youth have all become disillusioned with the government and Punjab wants freedom from the rackets created under Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann. He said that every AAP minister, MLA and office bearer must now publicly clarify their position.

Punjab does not want evasive answers. Punjab wants to know whether they stand with Sri Akal Takht Sahib or against it. Bhagwant Mann has lost all moral authority to continue as Chief Minister and must resign immediately.

Those who challenge Punjab's faith, dignity and the highest institution of the Panth will never be forgiven by the people.
