Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party President Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon said that if Sher-e-Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh could bow his head before Sri Akal Takht Sahib, then why cannot Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann do the same? Has the arrogance of power become greater than the sanctity of the Guru's institution? The status and authority of Sri Akal Takht Sahib are higher than any Chief Minister's chair—today, tomorrow, and forever.

Dhillon said that Sher-e-Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh was a great ruler before whom even the Afghans and Mughals trembled, and under whose leadership Punjab emerged as a powerful empire. Yet, when Sri Akal Takht Sahib summoned him, he appeared not as an emperor but as a humble servant of the Guru's house.

He said that Jathedar Akali Baba Phula Singh Ji had declared Maharaja Ranjit Singh a tankhaiya (guilty of religious misconduct and liable for religious punishment). The Maharaja accepted the punishment without any protest and bowed his head in humility. Witnessing his extraordinary humility, the Sangat (congregation) forgave him.

That was the true identity of Sher-e-Punjab—a leader for whom faith and the Panth stood above every form of political or royal power. Dhillon said that, in complete contrast, when Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was declared a “Guru-Dokhi” and “anti-Khalsa Panth” by Sri Akal Takht Sahib, instead of showing humility, he described the decision as a “political conspiracy.”

Rather than bowing his head, he questioned the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. He further alleged that attempts were made to dismiss even the reports of the Central Forensic Laboratories.

In conclusion, Dhillon said that history bears witness that those who have tried to challenge Sri Akal Takht Sahib have never benefited politically or socially. Bhagwant Mann should learn from history.
