The Madhya Pradesh government has stepped up preparations for the NEET-UG re-examination and put in place strict security measures to ensure its smooth and transparent conduct, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Wednesday. “The state government is continuously coordinating with the Central government regarding NEET exams in Madhya Pradesh.

All arrangements are being made in accordance with the guidelines received from the Centre so that incidents of irregularities witnessed in the past do not recur,” CM Yadav told reporters. The re-examination will be conducted at 283 centres across 30 districts of the state.

Reviewing preparations with senior officials, the Chief Minister directed authorities to ensure foolproof arrangements at all centres. CM Yadav said special attention was being given to security and verification processes. He instructed the Higher Education Department to complete the installation of biometric machines, CCTV cameras and signal jammers at all centres by June 19.

A trial run of these systems will be carried out on June 20. The Chief Minister also directed Collectors, Police Commissioners and Superintendents of Police to closely monitor preparations and strictly follow the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) laid down for the examination.

Highlighting security arrangements, CM Yadav said additional police personnel would be deployed at centres where a large number of students are expected. “During NEET, when students arrive from 11 a.m. onwards, their verification and other procedures will be carried out.

We have instructed officials that wherever a large number of students are coming, especially in major cities, additional forces should be deployed,” he said. The state government has also made arrangements for parents and guardians accompanying candidates.

Facilities, including refreshments, will be provided at centres where required. To ease transportation-related issues, city buses will be deployed in Bhopal and Indore, which have a large number of examination centres. During the review meeting, officials informed the Chief Minister that district-level coordination committees and control rooms have already been set up.

Nodal officers have been appointed for groups of examination centres, while assistant sub-inspector-level police personnel have been deployed at every centre. CM Yadav said the arrangements being made for NEET should become a benchmark for conducting other competitive examinations in the state in the future.
