Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab State Media Head and Chief Sevadar of Kharar Assembly Constituency, Vineet Joshi, said that photographs and videos of Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Kharar, Anmol Gagan Mann, allegedly show an individual against whom various criminal cases related to drug trafficking and the smuggling of prohibited khair trees have reportedly been registered.
Vineet Joshi said this raises serious concerns that such elements may be receiving political patronage, which could be encouraging activities such as drug abuse and illegal smuggling in the region. According to him, this situation also raises questions about Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s anti-drug campaign and the “zero tolerance” policy announced by Arvind Kejriwal.
Joshi said that MLA Anmol Gagan Mann should publicly clarify why she appears to be closely associated with individuals against whom such serious criminal cases have reportedly been registered. He stated that the individual in question can be seen in photographs and videos shared by the MLA herself on her social media platforms.
Most importantly, he claimed that these photographs and videos are said to be from after the registration of a case in April 2025, naturally giving rise to several questions in the minds of the public. Joshi further stated that Binder Singh, the Sarpanch of village Masol in Kharar Tehsil, was allegedly arrested with poppy husk in connection with an FIR registered on April 17, 2025.
He said that Binder Singh was sent to jail in the case and was later released on bail. Subsequently, according to another FIR registered on June 5, 2026, the police allegedly detained him under suspicious circumstances, where he reportedly tested positive in a dope test.
Joshi also said that Binder Singh’s name had allegedly surfaced in FIR No. 6, registered in January 2022 at Meharban Police Station in Ludhiana, in connection with a case involving the smuggling of illegally cut khair trees. In addition, there have reportedly been discussions about his name surfacing in similar cases in the Kalka area of Haryana.
He demanded that the Aam Aadmi Party and MLA Anmol Gagan Mann issue a public clarification on the entire matter and clearly present their genuine commitment to fighting the menace of drugs to the people.
