Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired a meeting to review the progress of projects approved under the Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) for the permanent restoration of public facilities and utilities damaged by flash floods, landslides and other natural disasters that occurred in the district in April 2025.

Among those present were Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Shokat Hayat Mattoo, Chief Planning Officer Dr Shakeeb Ahmed Rather, Executive Engineers of PWD (R&B), PMGSY, Jal Shakti and JPDCL and other officers concerned. The DC reviewed the status of works proposed by various departments within the ceiling conveyed by the DMRRR.

He directed the officers of the Revenue, School Education, PWD (R&B), PMGSY Divisions of Ramban and Banihal, Jal Shakti, JPDCL, Irrigation & Flood Control, Animal Husbandry and Sheep Husbandry Departments to prioritise work-wise plans strictly in accordance with the approved financial ceiling and PDNA guidelines.

He further instructed all departments to prepare and submit their plans in coordination with one another for onward submission to the Administrative Department. He emphasised the need for close inter-departmental coordination to ensure the timely submission of work proposals and the effective utilisation of funds for the restoration of damaged public assets and utilities.

The DC also stressed that all projects should focus on long-term resilience and sustainability to minimise the impact of future natural calamities and strengthen disaster preparedness across the district.
