Governor Kavinder Gupta said that the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 can only be achieved when villages, farmers, young people and women play an active role in the country's development. He said that a strong rural economy, modern farming, skill development and entrepreneurship are essential for building an Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India).

He was speaking at the Annual Lecture on 'Bharat 2047: The Resolve of a Developed India', organised by the Panchanad Shodh Sansthan Adhyayan Kendra in Shimla on Friday evening. The Governor said that when India celebrates 100 years of Independence in 2047, the aim is not only to become economically strong but also to be an inclusive, self-reliant and innovative nation that upholds human values. 

He said that the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is a national mission involving all 140 crore Indians. He lauded the efforts of the Panchanad Research Institute for its contribution to research, public awareness and nation-building. 

He also highlighted India's progress in digital technology, innovation, start-ups, infrastructure, healthcare, education and financial inclusion. He said that while economic growth is important, social justice, environmental protection and cultural values must also be given equal importance.

Speaking about India's digital transformation, he said the country's digital model has become an example for the world. Addressing young people, the Governor said that Himachal Pradesh has great talent and potential. 

He stressed the need to provide quality education, modern skills and opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship. He encouraged the youth to become job creators rather than job seekers and to use their talents to solve social challenges. 

He said that India's development depends not only on government policies but also on the energy, knowledge, character and patriotism of its young people. On the occasion, the Governor also released two books: Puran Purush: Sikhhi Ke Sutra by Radhika Dhiman and Man Buddhi Ka Vikas: Sikhhi Ke Sutra by Amardeep Singh.

Earlier, Prof. Brij Kishore Kuthiala delivered the keynote lecture on the theme of a developed India by 2047. Raj Kumar Verma and Prof. Manu Sood also shared their views on the vision of a developed India.

Prominent academicians, researchers, social thinkers and prominent people were also present on the occasion.
