Sri Vasamsetti Subhash, Hon'ble Minister for Labour, Factories, Boilers & Insurance Medical Services, Government of Andhra Pradesh visited the VIT-AP Campus for the VIT-AP  1st International FIDE-Rating Chess Tournament. He planted a sapling in the campus and highlighted the growing need to reduce environmental pollution and conserve natural resources.

Speaking on the occasion Sri Vasamsetti Subhash, Hon'ble Minister for Labour, Factories, Boilers & Insurance Medical Services, Government of Andhra Pradesh said that “I am delighted to witness the VIT-AP 1st International FIDE-Rating Chess Tournament being organized on such a grand scale in Amaravati, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh. 

I congratulate the VIT-AP management for successfully hosting this prestigious international event, which brings together talented chess players from across the country and beyond. Such initiatives not only promote sports and intellectual excellence but also enhance Amaravati's stature as a destination for international events."

It is a matter of great pride that such a prestigious national-level event is being hosted in Amaravati. Bringing together talented players from across India reflects the growing stature of our capital city as a hub for education, sports, and excellence,” he stated.

Dr.Rayapati Sailaja-Chairperson of Andhra Pradesh State Women’s Commission visit to VIT-AP today:

Highlighting the significance of chess, Dr.Rayapati Sailaja-Chairperson of Andhra Pradesh State Women’s Commission  remarked that the game develops analytical thinking and helps individuals make intelligent and well-informed decisions. “Chess sharpens the mind, strengthens strategic thinking, and nurtures leadership qualities among young people,” she added. 

Dr.Rayapati Sailaja visited VIT-AP University today for the 6th day of VIT-AP  1st International FIDE-Rating Chess Tournament. She congratulated the management of VIT-AP University for their efforts in organizing the tournament and providing a platform for young talent from across the nation.

Sri Ake Ravi Krishna IPS – Inspector General of Police Eagle cell stressed the need to create awareness on drug abuse among youngsters. He made all the players to take the pledge for drugs free India

Speaking on the occasion Dr.P. Arulmozhivarman- Vice Chancellor, VIT-AP University said that We are delighted to host the VIT-AP  1st International FIDE-Rating Chess Tournament, bringing together nearly 1,000 talented participants from 26 states across India. Chess is a game that nurtures critical thinking, strategic decision-making, and intellectual excellence. 

We are grateful for the encouragement and support of the Hon’ble Minister for Labour Sri Vasamsetti Subhash garu and the Dr. Rayapati Sailaja-Chairperson of Andhra Pradesh State Women’s Commission. It is a matter of pride that this prestigious event is being held in Amaravati, inspiring young minds and promoting a culture of academic and sporting excellence."
