Under the leadership of former Health Minister and senior Congress leader Balbir Singh Sidhu, Congress Party candidates from all 50 wards of Mohali successfully filed their nomination papers today for the Municipal Corporation elections at GAMADA Bhawan, Mohali.

A large number of Congress workers and supporters were also present on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Balbir Singh Sidhu said that all the candidates fielded by the Congress Party are educated, honest, and committed to public service. He stated that the Congress Party has always practiced people-centric politics and that the public will once again place their trust in Congress in the upcoming elections.

Launching a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party government, Sidhu alleged that the current government has undermined democracy by carrying out large-scale manipulation in ward delimitation and voter lists across Punjab. He further accused the AAP government of indulging in coercive politics.

He said that although some party colleagues were unable to contest due to irregularities in ward delimitation, the party values their contributions. Sidhu appealed to them to fully support the party candidates. He assured that once Congress forms the government, every worker would receive due respect and recognition.

Addressing the people of Mohali, Balbir Singh Sidhu said that the Congress Party stands for secularism, public welfare, and development-oriented policies. He added that all the major development projects brought to Mohali during the previous Congress regime were the contribution of the Congress government.

Whether it was Nursing Medical Colleges, hospitals, dispensaries, or sports stadiums, Congress prioritized development in every sector. He also stated that several important development works in Mohali had been left incomplete by current AAP MLA Kulwant Singh.

Sidhu said that once Congress forms the government in the Municipal Corporation, all pending works would be completed on a priority basis. Sidhu appealed to government employees and people from all sections of society to support the Congress Party, stating that the future belongs to Congress in Punjab.

He added that if Congress also succeeds in electing the Mayor in the Municipal Corporation, the pace of development in Mohali would increase manifold. In conclusion, Balbir Singh Sidhu appealed to the people of Mohali to ensure the victory of all Congress Party candidates by casting maximum votes in their favor so that the city’s development could gain a new direction and momentum. He expressed confidence that the Congress Party would contest the elections with full strength and achieve a resounding victory with public support.
