The Aam Aadmi Party received a major setback in Mohali politics when State Gau Seva Commission member Amit Jain joined the Congress party. Former minister Balbir Singh Sidhu formally inducted Amit Jain into Congress today and handed him the responsibility of Ward No. 22.

Speaking on the occasion, Balbir Singh Sidhu said that the Congress party is continuously growing stronger and people from different sections of society are joining the party after being influenced by its policies. He expressed confidence that Amit Jain’s entry into the party would further strengthen Congress in Ward 22.

After joining Congress, Amit Jain said that he took the decision keeping in mind public service and the development of the area. He assured that the issues of Ward 22 residents would be raised on priority and development works would be accelerated.

Congress workers and supporters showed great enthusiasm during the event. Party leaders welcomed Amit Jain and claimed that Congress would contest the upcoming Municipal Corporation elections with full strength.
