Former Education Minister and MLA Pargat Singh, while commenting on the CBI raid at the Vigilance Bureau headquarters, targeted the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP government. He said it is an election stunt. The way the Aam Aadmi Party government under CM Mann has misused the Vigilance Bureau over the past four and a quarter years, now as elections approach, the BJP is using central agencies to tighten its grip on the AAP. The BJP is also not innocent. In Punjab, Aam Aadmi Party is a “small goon,” while at the Centre BJP is a “big goon.”
In Punjab, AAP has indulged in hooliganism, and the BJP, acting like a “big goon,” has started suppressing them. Both parties are promoting corruption. Pargat said that this incident has not only reduced the credibility of the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab, but has also opened the door for central agencies to enter the state.
Because in Punjab itself, Aam Aadmi Party used the Vigilance Bureau to take action against five of its own ministers and leaders and even send them to jail. After that, CM Mann and his government openly used the Vigilance Bureau to promote extortion and corruption.
The Chief Minister has kept the Vigilance Bureau as his “parrot.” There is an internal understanding between the BJP and AAP. That is why, as elections approach, the BJP is carrying out such actions to remind AAP of its place.
He said the BJP’s pattern is the same across the country. First, they label leaders of other parties as corrupt, then make them join BJP. They are put into the BJP “washing machine” and their stains are cleaned.
The Chief Ministers of Bengal and Assam are examples of this. There are many such leaders whom the BJP first called corrupt and later gave a clean chit. Pargat Singh said that this is not a battle of ideology, but a fight between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal.
Their aim and agenda is only to show an electoral contest between BJP and AAP in Punjab, keeping other parties away from the field. The former Education Minister and MLA also questioned the Centre over the repeated cancellation of the NEET examination.
He said that neither the Prime Minister nor his leaders have ever appeared for this exam, so they cannot understand the pain of 2.2 million children of the country. Only the students know how hard they have to work for this exam.
To prevent repeated cancellations of NEET, the central government needs to take strict measures. Punishment for the accused should be so severe that it deters anyone from committing such acts in the future.
