Deputy Commissioner Jammu Dr. Rakesh Minhas today flagged off a massive anti- Drug awareness rally here from the DC office organised as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The rally, aimed at sensitising the youth to the perils of drug menace, saw enthusiastic participation from students of the government and private educational institutions.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner urged the students to remain vigilant and wary of any attempts at coercion or luring into drug consumption. He emphasised the importance of communication, advising students to immediately report any instances of drug promotion or usage to their elders or school administrations.

"A healthy mind resides in a healthy body. Students must channelise their energy toward sports and creative pursuits for holistic development," Dr. Minhas added. He also administered an oath to the children, committing them to Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.

Chief Education Officer Ajeet Sharma also spoke on the occasion, encouraging the youth to adopt a healthy lifestyle and resist the temptations of substance abuse. The rally, which featured students carrying placards and chanting slogans to raise awareness, passed through the roads of the old Jammu city.

The event was organised in collaboration with the JKPSA as part of the 100 Days’ Campaign against drugs, an initiative led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. Prominent among those present were ZEPO BD Sharma, JKPSA Chairman Kamal Gupta, District President Lal Chand Gandotra, besides various school chairpersons and principals.
