Extracurricular activities play an important role in the overall development of children and help nurture imagination, discipline, and positive thinking. This was stated by MLA Jammu East Yudhvir Sethi in a Painting and Drawing Competition organised by JK Future Founders at Shree Radha Krishan Mandir in Jagti.

Yudhvir Sethi, who graced the occasion as the chief guest,  encouraged young participants for their creativity and artistic expression. Addressing the gathering, Yudhvir Sethi appreciated the efforts of the organisers for providing a meaningful platform to children and promoting cultural and emotional values through art.

He said, “Children possess immense creativity and such competitions help them express emotions, strengthen family values, and build confidence. The theme ‘My Memory With Mom’ beautifully reflects the unconditional love and sacrifices of mothers. It is heartening to see young minds presenting such wonderful ideas with great enthusiasm.”

He also congratulated JK Future Founders for continuously organising social, religious, and cultural programmes for the youth and society. He particularly emphasized the importance of such events in supporting the 100-day "Nasha Mukt Bharat" program, keeping the youth engaged in constructive activities and away from drug abuse.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 75 students, who gathered to showcase their creativity and imagination. The competition was organised as part of the Mother’s Day celebrations under the theme “My Memory With Mom,” where children from Classes 4th to 9th participated enthusiastically and showcased heartfelt emotions through paintings and drawings dedicated to mothers.

The event featured two groups comprising students from Classes 4th to 6th and Classes 7th to 9th. Participants beautifully depicted themes such as mother-child bonding, mothers helping children in studies, mothers as superheroes, their sacrifices in daily life, and symbolic representations of love, care, and affection.

In a commendable effort to promote the arts, JKFF provided every participant with free drawing sheets and a complete stationery kit, including color pencils, sharpeners, erasers, and snacks. This initiative ensured that every child had the tools necessary to express their artistic vision.

The Chief Guest presented prizes and certificates to winners and certificates of participation to all participants to motivate and encourage their talent. Dr. Arvind Karwani, Relief Commissioner (Migrants) Jammu J&K, who could not attend due to urgent official commitments, conveyed his 'Ashirwad' and blessings to all participants telephonically.

The JK Future Foundation Trust expressed its deepest gratitude to Sh. Yudhvir Singh Sethi for encouraging the young participants. The Trust also extended its thanks to the management committee of the Radha Krishan Mandir (Lane 20) for their support in making the event a grand success.

"Our goal is to provide a platform for the children of Jagti to express themselves, gain confidence, and remain focused on a healthy, drug-free lifestyle," said an organizer from JKFF. Parents also appreciated the initiative and praised the creativity displayed by the children during the event. The programme concluded words of encouragement for the budding artists, making the Mother’s Day celebration memorable and inspiring for all present.
