Dr Ankita Kansal Assumes Charge as First SDM of Newly carved-out Banur Sub-Division

2024-batch PCS officer Dr Ankita Kansal today assumed charge as the first-ever Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of the newly created Banur Sub-Division. She will also continue to serve as Assistant Commissioner (General) at the District Administrative Complex, SAS Nagar.

Prior to joining the Punjab Civil Services, Dr Kansal served in the Excise and Taxation Department since 2012 and was later promoted as Assistant Excise and Taxation Commissioner. She completed her MBBS from Government Medical College, Patiala, graduating in 2009.

Expressing her feelings on the occasion, Dr Ankita Kansal said that it was a matter of pride for her to become the first SDM of Banur. She added that her priority would be to develop the necessary infrastructure and ensure efficient public services for residents, in line with the commitment of the Punjab Government.

Rajpura MLA Mrs Neena Mittal, who played a key role in the upgradation of Banur from a Sub-Tehsil to a Sub-Division, congratulated Dr Kansal on assuming the new responsibility. The MLA expressed confidence that the young officer would discharge her duties with dedication and work diligently in the larger public interest.

Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, congratulated Dr Ankita Kansal on assuming the new responsibility and said that the creation of Banur Sub-Division would help strengthen administrative outreach and ensure prompt delivery of citizen-centric services in the region. She expressed confidence that Dr Kansal would discharge her duties with dedication and sensitivity towards public welfare.
