Under the Punjab Government’s “Mera Ghar Mere Naam” campaign, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema distributed property ownership certificates to 87 families in village Rampur Gujjaran of the Dirba constituency. Addressing the gathering, he said that people living within the Lal Lakir (village habitation boundary) in rural areas had long faced difficulties regarding ownership of their houses, as their properties were not recorded in official government records.

However, under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, a special survey was conducted across Punjab, and houses within the Lal Lakir were assigned identification numbers and granted ownership rights. The Cabinet Minister stated that with the granting of ownership rights and the official registration of these properties, the value of the houses has increased, and the residents have now become legal owners of their homes.

He further added that beneficiaries will now be able to avail loans more easily when needed. Moreover, if a person wishes to sell their house and build a bigger one elsewhere, they can now receive a significantly higher value for their property.

Congratulating the beneficiaries who received ownership certificates, the Minister said that this campaign is being implemented across Punjab, and soon all eligible residents living within the Lal Lakir will be provided ownership certificates. He also stated that development works are being carried out at a rapid pace across Punjab.

Efforts are being made to provide canal water to every field, thereby conserving groundwater. The use of canal water will also increase crop yield and reduce the need for fertilizers.

On this occasion, SDM Tarseem Chand, Chairman Improvement Trust Sangrur Pritam Singh Peetu, Chairperson Market Committee Dirba Jasveer Kaur Shergill, Chairman Market Committee Sular Gharat Harvinder Singh Chhajli, BDPO Dirba Pradeep Sharda, Sarpanch Ravinder Singh Mann, Zila Parishad Member Ranjit Singh, and Sarpanch Sandeep Singh Khetla were present.
