Haryana Education Minister, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda  while chairing a review meeting of senior  officers of the Education Department in Panchkula on Tuesday said the State government is fully committed to improving the quality of education and providing a better learning environment in government schools. 

He emphasised that institutions with higher student strength will see a further strengthening of basic infrastructure to meet growing needs. Emphasising the need to guide Class 12 students towards a better future, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda directed that structured career counselling sessions be organised in government schools. 

He said such initiatives would help students make informed choices regarding higher education and career paths, ensuring a smoother academic transition. He further directed the Education Department to release a detailed activity calendar to enable systematic monitoring of progress.

Officiers directed to Undertake Field Visits and Resolve Issues Promptly

Sh. Mahipal Dhanda directed officers  to conduct regular and surprise visits to government schools to assess ground realities. He stressed the need for a proactive approach in identifying and resolving issues at the earliest. 

He further directed that construction and repair works of school buildings be completed within stipulated timelines to ensure that students’ studies are not disrupted.

Focus on Basic Amenities and Student Well-being

The Cabinet Minister underlined that ensuring access to clean drinking water, proper seating arrangements, functional toilets and other essential facilities in schools remains a top priority. He cautioned against any negligence in these areas and called for sustained efforts to improve enrolment by enhancing school infrastructure and facilities.

Social Media Outreach and Career Guidance Initiatives

Sh. Mahipal Dhanda also directed officers to actively promote the department’s schemes and achievements through social media platforms, ensuring wider public awareness and outreach.

Recognition for Performing Teachers

Calling for a culture of encouragement, the Minister asked officials to identify and recognise teachers and officials delivering exemplary performance. He said that timely recognition fosters motivation and creates a positive work environment across the department. He urged officers to work in “mission mode” to make Haryana’s education system the best in the country.

Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Sh. Vijay Singh Dahiya,  Director General, Secondary Education, Sh. Jitender Kumar, State Project Director, Haryana School Shiksha Pariyojna Parishad, Smt. Varsha Khangwal, Director, Elementary Education, Smt. Manita Malik and other senior officers also attended the meeting.
