Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that Punjab politics is currently passing through a phase where a deep conflict is visible between power, stability, and public interest. He said that political instability is increasing in the state. Punjab today needs a double-engine government that does not merely make promises, but also has the ability to fulfil them.
There is a need for leadership that is not afraid to take decisions, that places public welfare above everything else, and that works in the national interest. He said all this is possible under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi.
If a Bharatiya Janata Party government is formed in Punjab, work will be done to create a Viksit Punjab on the lines of the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat.The Chief Minister was addressing a programme organised in Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab, on Friday.
The Chief Minister said that the history of Mandi Gobindgarh teaches us that the path to success is paved through struggle and determination. This region has for centuries remained a centre of trade, culture, and social harmony. Different communities here have together built a legacy where unity and brotherhood remain paramount.
This town, which has witnessed many ups and downs in history, has emerged stronger after every challenge. Whether it was a period of social transformation or economic change, Mandi Gobindgarh has always maintained its identity and inner strength in every situation.
The Chief Minister said that this city is also famous across the country as the “Steel Town.” The industries here strengthen the economy of the entire nation. Unfortunately, the industry in Mandi Gobindgarh today is facing several serious crises.
Expensive electricity and policy instability have weakened the backbone of industries here. Many small and medium industries are on the verge of closure, and thousands of workers are facing an employment crisis.
This is not merely about statistics; it is about the suffering of families whose livelihoods are linked to these industries. When factories shut down, it is not just the machines that stop, but also the kitchen fires in homes that go cold.
He said that out of the 217 promises made in the BJP’s Sankalp Patra for the Haryana Assembly elections, 60 promises have already been fulfilled within one and a half years. Work on the remaining 157 promises is in progress. He said that to provide economic and social security to the women and daughters of Haryana, the ‘Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana’ has been launched.
Under this scheme, financial assistance of Rs. 2,100 is being provided. So far, nearly 10 lakh women and girls have been given Rs. 1,038 crore. The Chief Minister said that in Haryana, poor women are being provided LPG cylinders for only Rs. 500 every month to help them run their kitchens.
He said that today in Haryana, procurement of 24 crops is being carried out at Minimum Support Price. So far, Rs. 1,79,317 crore for crop procurement has been transferred into the accounts of 12 lakh farmers.
He said that Haryana is providing a monthly pension of Rs. 3,200 to senior citizens, benefiting 50 lakh elderly people. He said that in Haryana, 2 lakh youths have been given jobs on the basis of merit without any “parchi” or “kharchi.”
He challenged the Punjab Chief Minister to release a white paper detailing how many government jobs have been provided to Punjab youth during his tenure. He further said that the Punjab Chief Minister had promised to eliminate drugs from the state, but today, while delivering speeches in the Punjab Assembly, the Chief Minister himself appeared to be intoxicated.
On this occasion, programme organiser Kanwarveer Singh Tohra, Rajya Sabha Member Sardar Satnam Singh Sandhu, former Haryana Minister Aseem Goel, Punjab BJP State Vice President Sh. Subhash Sharma, District BJP President, Deedar Singh Bhatti, State Executive Member, Rakesh Gupta, and other dignitaries were present.
