Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has said that Rajasthan is witnessing rapid progress in girls’ education, driven by the state government’s policies focused on expanding infrastructure and ensuring access up to higher education across regions.

He was addressing the inauguration of a newly constructed girls’ college established by the Rajeshwar Bhagwan Anjani Mata Kanya Gurukul Sansthan, along with the 10th foundation day programme of the Gurukul in Rohat in Pali district.

Emphasising that regional development depends on quality education for the youth, he said that the new college would play a key role in educating young women and strengthening educational outreach in the area. He also announced that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) would be prepared to meet the water requirements of the region in a structured and time-bound manner.

Sharma said that, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, the state government has prepared a comprehensive development roadmap centred on youth, women, farmers, and labourers. Projects related to water and electricity are being prioritised, including the Ram Jal Setu Link Project, the Dewas Project, the Yamuna Water Agreement, and the Som-Kamla-Amba Project.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to balanced and inclusive regional development. The Chief Minister said that farmers in 24 districts are currently receiving electricity during daytime hours, a facility that will be extended across Rajasthan by 2027 in a phased manner.

Highlighting employment efforts, Sharma said that the government aims to create 10 lakh jobs, including 6 lakh in the private sector and 4 lakh in the government sector. So far, about 1.25 lakh government jobs have been filled, recruitment for 1.33 lakh posts is currently underway, and a recruitment calendar for another 1.25 lakh posts has already been released.

In the private sector, around 3 lakh jobs have been generated so far under various initiatives. He also criticised the previous government over examination paper leaks, stating that while earlier such incidents had shattered the aspirations of the youth, no paper leak has occurred under the present administration so far.

Referring to initiatives under the Prime Minister’s leadership, Sharma highlighted flagship campaigns such as Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, the Swachh Bharat Mission, and the Jal Jeevan Mission, which aim to enhance women’s dignity, safety, and overall living conditions.

The Chief Minister announced that the Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM-2026) will be held in Jaipur from May 23 to 25, with participation from farmers, livestock rearers, scientists, and investors from across the country. He urged farmers to attend the event in large numbers.

Sharma said that in the past two-and-a-half years, 71 new government colleges have been opened and buildings for 185 colleges have been inaugurated, strengthening the higher education infrastructure in the state. He noted that the previous government had constructed only 57 college buildings over a period of five years.

He added that Rs 125 crore has been allocated for infrastructure upgrades in higher education institutions, while new courses have been introduced in 50 postgraduate (PG) and 73 undergraduate (UG) colleges. An amount of Rs 330 crore has also been sanctioned under the PM-USHA scheme to further strengthen the higher education ecosystem.

Additionally, over 43,000 scooters have been distributed to meritorious female students to encourage continued education among girls. Gujarat Assembly Speaker Shankarbhai Chaudhary said that sustained efforts are being made to promote girls’ education and enhance women’s representation in public life.

Rajya Sabha MP Madan Rathore praised the Gurukul Sansthan for its role in advancing women’s empowerment and educational outreach. Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated the college building, offered prayers at the Anjani Mata Temple, and interacted with Gurukul students on various initiatives related to education and women’s empowerment.
