Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today visited Langer site and Yatri Niwas Chanderkote to review the preparations for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026. The Deputy Commissioner conducted an extensive inspection of key halt points and essential facilities along the Yatra route in the district, with focus on the mid-way halt locations at Chanderkote.

He was accompanied by senior superintendent of Police Arun Gupta; ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak; ACD Sheraz Ahmed; Project Director NHAI Shubam Yadav, besides executive Engineers of Jal Shakti, PWD and JPDCI, CMO and Tehsildar Ramban.

The Deputy Commissioner inspected the Yatra Niwas at Chanderkote and other designated halting sites for pilgrims and security personnel during the annual yatra. “Chanderkote Ramban Mid-way halt is a critical point on the route and requires comprehensive arrangements, including adequate lodging, sanitation, uninterrupted power and water supply, Health care services and robust security measures,” the DC noted.

He directed the stakeholder departments to prepare a comprehensive action plan well in advance to ensure coordinated execution of assignments. He further directed the NHAI to expedite and complete the ongoing tunnel and viaducts projects between Ramban and Banihal to make the Yatra safer and more comfortable for pilgrims.
