As part of the youth engagement initiatives under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiud Din Bhat, today visited PM Package Employees Colony, Vessu and witnessed a cricket match played between two cricket clubs of the colony.

He was accompanied by ADC, ACR and other officials of administration and concerned departments. On the occasion, the DC interacted with the players and appreciated their enthusiasm and sportsmanship. He encouraged players to actively engage in sports and other constructive activities, so they develop into responsible and mature citizens.

Advising youth to denounce the drug menace, the DC highlighted the significance of Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir” campaign and emphasized the vital role of youth in building a drug-free and healthy society. He urged them to channelise their energy towards sports, education and enterpreneurial avenues so they contribute to the society and nation at large.

Dr. Bilal further cautioned about the devastating effects of drugs and expressed hope that with collective efforts of all, the menace can be effectively eliminated from the society. At the culmination, the DC applauded commendable performance of both teams and felicitated them with awards and sports kits. The residents appreciated administration for the encouragement and support towards youth-centric activities and welfare in the colony.
