Hundreds of youth from Kharar, led by prominent social activist Dr. J.S. Mann, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under the leadership of senior BJP leader and State Media Head Vineet Joshi at Drapan City, Kharar. On this occasion, Mandal President Kharar Mandal no 3 Kush Rana formally inducted the new members by presenting them with the traditional party patka.

Prominent individuals who joined along with Dr. J.S. Mann include Gurdeep Singh Billa, Sagar Nagar, Panu Badala, Sahib Badala, Sandeep Singh, Deep (Naya Shehar), Sanju (Naya Shehar), Gurkirpal Singh, Gorav Kumar, Harjinder Singh, Pardeep Cholta, Mohit, Vansh Rana, Garry Khanpur, Nahial Khanpur, Harwinder Singh, Harshpreet (Kharar), Sharry Talwar, Deepak Kumar, Tarsem Singh, and Aman Deep Singh.

Dr. J.S. Mann stated that they were inspired by the dedication and continuous efforts of Vineet Joshi in addressing the issues of the Kharar Assembly constituency, which motivated them to join the BJP. He highlighted that due to the sustained movement led by Joshi, the Punjab Government was compelled to reconsider its decision and reduce the Eco-Sensitive Zone limit from 3 kilometers to 100 meters, thereby saving thousands of homes in Nayagaon and Kansal from demolition.

In Majri Block, illegal mining activities were halted as a result of Joshi’s persistent struggle, with local residents stating that such action has taken place for the first time in the past 25 years. He further added that Joshi stood firmly with villagers against the Punjab Government’s attempt to forcibly occupy land worth hundreds of crores in Jhanjeri village.

During severe flooding in Kharar, Joshi waded through waist-deep water to reach residents trapped inside flats and houses, while also consistently raising the issue of Landran Road. In Mirzapur village, he supported locals in their movement to protect hill land from alleged land mafia activities, and also played a key role in resolving civic issues such as sewage overflow in Aura Avenue and the drinking water shortage in New Sunny Enclave, Sector 125.
