In a significant push towards transforming Dhuri into a clean, green, and modern city, beautification and development projects worth Rs. 2.28 crore were formally launched today. The projects were inaugurated by Chairman, Punjab Small Industries & Export Corporation, Dalbir Singh Dhillon, along with Chairman, Market Committee Dhuri, Rajwant Singh Ghulli, in the presence of Waqf Board Member Dr. Anwar Bhasaur.
Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries announced that a state-of-the-art Nature Park will be developed in Ward No. 1 at an estimated cost of Rs.1.34 crore. The park will feature landscaped green spaces, dedicated walking tracks, children’s play areas, seating arrangements, and modern lighting—offering a refreshing recreational space for residents of all age groups.
In addition, infrastructure development works including the laying of interlocking tiles and other civic upgrades in Ward No. 21, costing Rs. 90 lakh, have also been initiated to strengthen the city’s basic amenities. Highlighting the government’s commitment, the Chairmen stated that Dhuri is being developed as a model city with work progressing at a war footing.
They emphasized that all projects are being undertaken with a focus on quality, timely completion, and addressing the needs of the public. They further assured that more development initiatives are in the pipeline to enhance urban infrastructure and improve the overall quality of life for citizens.
Residents were also urged to actively support these efforts and contribute towards maintaining cleanliness and civic sense in the city. Among those present on the occasion were Director Small Industries Anil Mittal, Director Jaspal Singh Bhullar, Block Chairman Dhuri Ranjodh Singh, Pushpinder Sharma, Navraj, Jiuna Singh, Block President Sukhpal Singh Pala, Bir Bhan, along with a large number of local residents.
