Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora, during an extensive tour of villages Balwar Kalan, Khurani, Sohian Kalan, Ealwal, Kanoi, and Kular Khurd in the Sunam constituency, distributed grant cheques worth Rs 65 lakh to the village panchayats for various development projects.

On this occasion, he also reviewed the ongoing development works in the villages and interacted with local residents, listening to their concerns. Addressing the gatherings, the Cabinet Minister said that the Punjab Government is committed to transforming villages into model villages and is continuously taking steps in this direction.

He said that strengthening basic infrastructure in villages remains a top priority, including the repair and renovation of roads, construction of streets and drainage systems, provision of clean drinking water, installation of street lights, and maintenance of government buildings.

He further stated that these grants have been released keeping in view the demands and needs of the villagers so that no village is left behind in terms of development. The Cabinet Minister appealed to the panchayat representatives to ensure that development works are completed on time and with full transparency.

He emphasized that proper utilization of government funds strengthens public trust and accelerates regional development. He also inspected some ongoing works on the spot and issued necessary directions to officials to ensure quality standards. He warned that any kind of negligence would not be tolerated.

Responding to a media query regarding losses suffered by vegetable growers due to rainfall, the Cabinet Minister said that the Punjab Government has already issued directions for special girdawari to assess crop damage and assured that every affected farmer would be provided appropriate compensation.

He added that necessary action for conducting special girdawari for vegetable crop losses would also be undertaken. The Cabinet Minister also remarked that the land of Sangrur district is the land of warriors, fighters, and martyrs, and any disrespectful remarks about this land would not be tolerated.

On this occasion, the villagers expressed their gratitude to the Cabinet Minister, stating that the grants would help complete long-pending development works and significantly improve the condition of their villages. They added that the development works undertaken by the Punjab Government are clearly visible on the ground. Local panchayat members, prominent leaders, and a large number of residents were present on the occasion.
