MLA Rajpura, Smt. Neena Mittal, today formally inaugurated the wheat procurement season at Banur Mandi, marking the beginning of procurement operations in the SAS Nagar district. The district has started witnessing the arrival of wheat in major mandis including Banur, Lalru, and Samgouli.
Addressing the officials and farmers present on the occasion, the MLA stated that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, remains firmly committed to safeguarding the interests and welfare of farmers across the state.
She emphasized that all procurement agencies have been directed to ensure smooth and timely purchase of wheat as soon as it arrives in the mandis. She instructed the officials to make adequate arrangements so that farmers do not face any inconvenience or have to wait unnecessarily for the sale of their produce.
Smt. Mittal further highlighted that the state government has made comprehensive arrangements in all mandis, including proper lifting, storage, drinking water facilities, and other essential amenities for the convenience of farmers.
Reiterating the government’s pro-farmer approach, she assured that every grain brought by farmers to the mandis will be procured as per the norms and that payments will be made promptly.Officials of procurement agencies and market committees were also present on the occasion.
