Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today handed over keys of a Pickup Van (Hopper Tipper Dumper) to the Municipal Council to strengthen segregation and door-to-door garbage collection and further improve sanitation services in the town.

The Deputy Commissioner formally flagged off the vehicle, which will be used for collecting household waste from different wards of Ramban town, thereby ensuring better waste management and a cleaner environment. The Pickup Van has been provided by Jammu and Kashmir Bank, under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for the year 2025–26 at a cost of around ₹9 lakh.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that strengthening sanitation infrastructure is essential for maintaining cleanliness and improving public health. He expressed hope that the addition of the new vehicle will enhance the efficiency of the Municipal Council in ensuring regular and systematic door-to-door garbage collection across the town.

He also appreciated the support extended by the Jammu and Kashmir Bank under its CSR initiative and emphasized the importance of collective efforts in promoting cleanliness and sustainable waste management. Chief Planning Officer Ramban Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed Rather, CEO Municipal Council Ramban Sudershan Jamwal and other officers and officials were present on the occasion.
