Celebrating the launch of the Punjab Government’s major initiative, the “Chief Minister Maanvaan-Dhiyaan Satkar Yojana,” women in large numbers organized a traditional Jaago procession in Jandiala Guru city yesterday evening under the leadership of Punjab Cabinet Minister and MLA from Jandiala Guru constituency, S. Harbhajan Singh ETO, to express their happiness. A large number of women participated in the procession.

On this occasion, women also brought traditional items and other cultural articles, and carried out the Jaago in accordance with traditional customs. They celebrated the launch of the “Chief Minister Maanvaan-Dhiyaan Satkar Yojana” with great enthusiasm, making the event memorable.

Speaking on the occasion, Cabinet Minister S. Harbhajan Singh ETO said that under this scheme, women belonging to the Scheduled Caste category will receive ₹1500 per month, while women from the general category will receive ₹1000 per month as financial assistance. He said that the Punjab Government has taken significant steps to empower women and ensure their economic independence.

Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO further stated that nearly 97 percent of eligible women in Punjab will benefit from this scheme, making Punjab the first state in the country to provide financial assistance to such a large number of women. He said the initiative aims to strengthen women’s economic independence, enhance their role in household decision-making, improve health and nutrition outcomes, and inspire girls to pursue higher education and dream big.

On the occasion, women thanked the Mann Government and said that this step taken by the government would prove to be a major relief for ordinary families.
