Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rohit Kapoor, Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and Administrative Judge for Sessions Division, Amritsar, conducted the annual inspection of the courts at Amritsar and Baba Bakala Sahib today i.e. 13.03.2026. On this occasion, District and Sessions Judge Madam Jatinder Kaur, Additional District and Sessions Judge Mr. Baljinder Singh, CGM Madam Supreet Kaur, ACGM Madam Parminder Kaur Bains, Secretary of District Legal Services Authority Mr. Amardeep Singh Bains were also present.

During the inspection, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rohit Kapoor reviewed the functioning of the courts, judicial infrastructure, case management systems and overall administrative arrangements. He interacted with the judicial officers and court staff and emphasized the importance of timely disposal of cases, maintaining high standards of judicial work and ensuring effective delivery of justice to the public.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rohit Kapoor also met with the members of the District Bar Association, Amritsar and held discussions regarding issues relating to the functioning of the courts and the legal fraternity. During the visit, he also heard the grievances of litigants and members of the general public and assured them that appropriate steps would be taken to address their concerns in accordance with law.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rohit Kapoor also reviewed the preparations for the National Lok Adalat scheduled to be held on 14.03.2026 and directed the judicial officers to ensure maximum disposal of cases through amicable settlement for the benefit of litigants. Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rohit Kapoor further inaugurated the E-Mulakat facility at Baba Bakala Sahib, which will enable inmates to interact with their counsels through a digital platform. 

The facility has been introduced to facilitate easier and more efficient communication between inmates and their legal representatives and to strengthen access to justice.Judicial officers and members of the local bar were present on the occasion and appreciated the initiative to enhance digital access and streamline legal processes.

The visit reflects the continued commitment of the judiciary to improving court administration, strengthening infrastructure and ensuring efficient justice delivery in the Sessions Division, Amritsar. Earlier, on his arrival in Amritsar, Justice Rohit Kapoor was warmly welcomed by Deputy Commissioner Mr. Dalwinderjit Singh, Commissioner of Police S. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, SSP Amritsar Rural Sohel Qasim Meer on behalf of the district administration and was also given a guard of honour by the Punjab Police personnel.
