The Short Term Course on Global Warming, Disaster Management & Menace of E-Waste was inaugurated under the visionary leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Karamjeet Singh, at the Malaviya Mission Teachers Training Centre, Guru Nanak Dev University.

The session was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Adarsh Pal Vig, Former Chairman Punjab Pollution Board, who honored the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, Prof. Vig emphasized the urgent need for collective academic and societal efforts to combat the challenges  posed by climate change, environmental hazards, and the growing menace of electronic waste.

He highlighted the importance of multidisciplinary approaches in tackling these global issues. The course coordinator, Prof. (Dr.) Satwinderjeet Kaur welcomed the participants and outlined the objectives of the program. She stressed that the initiative aims to provide educators, researchers, and professionals with a comprehensive understanding of environmental concerns and disaster management strategies, while also sensitizing them to sustainable practices.

Prof. (Dr.) Maninder Lal Singh, Director of Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre, extended his gratitude to the distinguished guests and participants. He reiterated the Centre’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and capacity building through such multidisciplinary training programs.

He further noted that the course reflects Guru Nanak Dev University’s vision of preparing educators to address contemporary challenges with knowledge and responsibility.The inaugural session concluded with an interactive discussion, setting the tone for a week-long academic engagement that promises to enrich participants with insights into pressing environmental issues and practical solutions.
