Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan reviewed the implementation of the power sector schemes in a meeting held here today. The meeting was attended by CPO Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed Rather, Executive Engineer, Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL), along with representatives of executing agencies and vendors engaged in the implementation of flagship power sector initiatives.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of works undertaken under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), installation of Smart Meters and Rooftop Solar projects in the district. The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned agencies to fast-track the RDSS works to achieve desired objectives.
He also resolved the bottlenecks highlighted by the executing agencies by issuing necessary directions to the concerned officers. Assuring full administrative support, he stressed timely completion of all projects to strengthen the power distribution infrastructure, enhance operational efficiency and improve overall consumer satisfaction in the Ramban district.
While reviewing the status of Smart Meter installation, the Deputy Commissioner directed the executing agencies to expedite the process and ensure completion within the prescribed timelines. Further, the Deputy Commissioner laid special emphasis on the effective implementation and wider promotion of PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana by encouraging households to adopt Rooftop Solar systems to reduce electricity bills and ensure a sustainable and reliable power supply. He directed the Engineers and concerned agencies to accelerate the pace of installations to achieve the prescribed targets while strictly adhering to quality standards.
