Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh today chaired a meeting to assess the progress and current status of installation of electric transmission towers being executed by Powergrid in the district. During the review meeting held in the Conference Hall, DC Office Complex, the senior functionaries from POWERGRID briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the pace of work, locations covered and challenges being faced in the execution of the project.

The DC took a detailed assessment of tower installation, land-related issues and coordination with line departments to ensure timely completion of the work. Emphasizing the need to expedite the installation process, he said “The project is crucial for strengthening the power transmission network and improving electricity supply in the mountainous district.”

He directed the stakeholder departments to extend full cooperation to POWERGRID and resolve any bottlenecks on priority. Issues related to accessibility, weather constraints and public cooperation were also discussed at the meeting. The meeting was attended by the SE JPDCL Circle Doda-Kishtwar, ACR, SDM Gandoh, Tehsildars of Kahara, Chilly Pingal and Thathri, concerned XENs of the PDD and other stakeholders from Powergrid.
