A dental check-up and oral health awareness camp was organized by the Indian Dental Association (IDA), Amritsar Branch, at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Maha Singh Gate, Amritsar. The camp was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Amritsar, Shri Dalwinderjit Singh.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the efforts of the dental team and said that creating awareness about oral health among children is extremely important so that they can prevent dental diseases in the future. He motivated the students to brush their teeth daily and adopt healthy habits.

The camp was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Kamaldeep Sharma, President, IDA Amritsar Branch, and Dr. Nitin Verma, Secretary, along with 12 other prominent private dental practitioners from the executive committee. The school Principal Mrs. J.K. Shingari and the staff also extended full cooperation.

During the camp, detailed dental check-ups of more than 200 students were conducted, while over 500 students were educated about oral hygiene. The children were taught the correct brushing technique, dental care practices, and preventive measures against dental diseases.

Additionally, toothbrushes, toothpaste samples, and educational materials were distributed. A poster-making competition and a skit performance were also organized for the students.

Such initiatives play an important role in building a healthy and aware young generation.
