In a major breakthrough amidst the ongoing drive to make Punjab a safe and secure state as per directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, SAS Nagar Police has arrested two accused persons in connection with the murder case of Gurvinder Singh that occurred outside the Mohali District Courts Complex and recovered the vehicles used in the crime, said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) SAS Nagar Harmandeep Hans here on Wednesday.

Those arrested have been identified as Baltej Singh alias Bunty, a resident of Village Tehna in Faridkot; and Mangat Singh alias Max, a resident of Jalalabad in Fazilka. The recovered vehicles include Black Bajaj Pulsar Motorcycle (PB-22-D-5444) and White Honda Amaze Car (UP-14-CD-6847), both were used in the crime.

As per the information, the victim Gurvinder Singh was shot dead by unidentified assailants near his parked vehicle outside the District Courts Complex, Mohali, on January 28, 2026. His wife, complainant Amardeep Kaur, had suspected the involvement of foreign-based gangster Satinderjit Singh alias Goldy Brar, who had allegedly been threatening her husband.

SSP Harmandeep Hans said that during the investigation, CCTV analysis revealed that two accused came on a black Pulsar motorcycle, executed the shooting, and later changed clothes and escaped in a white Honda Amaze car. Based on technical and human intelligence, it emerged that the crime was allegedly planned by gangster Goldy Brar with the help of his associates Vicky Singh alias Vicky Sattewala and Ravi Kumar alias Ravi Faridkotia, who are currently abroad, he said.

The SSP further stated that on the disclosure of the arrested accused persons, the police have recovered the black Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle and the white Honda Amaze car used in the commission of the crime. He said that efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend the remaining associates and masterminds to completely unravel the conspiracy.

In this regard, a case FIR No. 23 dated 28-01-2026 under sections 103(1), 109 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and section 25 of the Arms Act was already registered at Police Station Sohana in SAS Nagar.
