The Inter-State Youth Exchange Programme (ISYEP) 2025–26, organised by MY Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, was inaugurated today at the RGNIYD Regional Centre, PEC Campus, Sector-12, Chandigarh. The five-day programme will be conducted from 2nd to 6th February 2026, with Chandigarh hosting youth participants from the State of Madhya Pradesh.

The Opening Ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. Sukhjinder Rishi, Director, Department of Youth Welfare, Panjab University. The programme was also honoured by the presence of Dr. Mahender Singh, Joint Director Sports, Chandigarh Administration, and Shri Paramjit Singh, Joint Director, MY Bharat, as Guests of Honour.

The inaugural function commenced with Vande Mataram followed by ceremonial lamp lighting. Shri Vinay Kumar, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat Chandigarh, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the objectives of the Inter-State Youth Exchange Programme in promoting national integration, cultural understanding, and youth leadership.

Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries underscored the pivotal role of youth in nation-building and appreciated the initiative of MY Bharat in providing a structured platform for young citizens from different states to interact, learn, and experience India’s unity in diversity. A total of 35 youth participants along with two escorts from Madhya Pradesh are participating in the programme.

The five-day schedule includes leadership and personality development sessions, communication and presentation skills workshops, language and cultural exchange activities, field visits, yoga and wellness programmes, sports and recreational activities, community engagement initiatives, and cultural performances.

Cultural performances by MY Bharat volunteers during the opening ceremony added vibrancy to the event and reflected the spirit of inter-state harmony. The programme aims to foster mutual understanding, strengthen emotional bonds among youth from different regions, and develop responsible and socially committed citizens.

The Inter-State Youth Exchange Programme is an initiative of MY Bharat aimed at nurturing youth as ambassadors of national unity, harmony, and inclusive development.
