Punjab Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal today laid the foundation stones for various road development projects at Gobindgarh Papra, Salemgarh, Shergarh Seeha Singh Wala, Bushehra, Banga, Mandvi, Shahpur Thedi, Bopur, Banarsi, Chattha Gobindpura, Bishanpura Khokhar and Gnota. Under these projects, rural link roads with a total length of more than 50 kilometres will be repaired, widened and upgraded at an estimated cost of around ₹58 crore. 

Once completed, these roads will strengthen inter-village connectivity and provide people with safe, convenient and faster transportation facilities. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal said that the present Punjab Government is giving top priority to rural development and is making continuous efforts to strengthen basic infrastructure in every region of the state. 

He said that a strong road infrastructure is the backbone of agriculture, trade and industry. Goyal stated that the government is working with full commitment for the development of the Lehra constituency and that no stone is being left unturned to ensure its overall development. 

He said that several important projects related to roads, drinking water, health, education and basic infrastructure are underway, which will completely transform the face of the Lehra constituency in the coming times. He added that the Punjab Government is implementing pro-people policies at the grassroots level so that the benefits of development reach every section of society.

The Cabinet Minister further said that the Aam Aadmi Party government is moving forward with firm determination to fulfill the promises made to the people, and that providing better facilities to the residents of the Lehra constituency is a top priority of the government. He directed the officials to ensure quality and timely completion of development works and to promptly address public grievances. Local residents expressed happiness over the commencement of these development works and thanked Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal and the Punjab Government.

On this occasion, SDM Lehra Rakesh Parkash, XEN Market Committee Punit Kumar, SDO Market Committee Lalit Bajaj, Chairman, Market Committee Khanauri, Jogi Ram Bhullan, Chairman, Market Committee Lehra, Dr. Shishpal Anand, Kulwinder Singh, Sarpanch Gobindpura Papra, Gulzari Seth of Salemgarh, Shamsher Singh of Salemgarh, Karamjit Singh Rajlahedi, Block President, Pardeep, Numberdar Andana, Bakshish Singh of Shahpur Theri, Nirmal Singh of Shahpur Theri, PA Rakesh Kumar Gupta, along with various office bearers, workers, officers from different departments, and a large number of villagers were present.
