Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Nidhi Malik today chaired a meeting of the District Level Implementation Committee to review and approve cases under the flagship Mission YUVA scheme. The meeting focused on a comprehensive assessment of applications received through the Skill and Business Development Unit.

After detailed deliberations, scrutiny and evaluation, the Committee, headed by the Deputy Commissioner, approved 370 cases for financial assistance and institutional support under the Mission YUVA initiative. Emphasising the transformative role of Mission YUVA, the Deputy Commissioner said that the scheme is aimed at equipping youth with employable skills, encouraging entrepreneurial ventures and creating sustainable self-employment opportunities across the district.

She underlined that the initiative not only supports aspiring entrepreneurs financially but also provides mentorship and institutional backing to help youth establish viable enterprises. The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of robust post-approval support, regular monitoring and timely handholding of beneficiaries to ensure the long-term success and sustainability of the approved ventures.

She called upon all stakeholder departments to work in close coordination to maximise the outreach, impact and effectiveness of the scheme at the grassroots level. She also directed the banking institutions to ensure fast-track processing, prompt verification and timely disbursement of sanctioned cases so that beneficiaries can commence their ventures without delay. The meeting was attended by ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal, Assistant Director Employment, representatives from various banks and other concerned district officers.
