Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore today unfurled the National Flag at the Mini Secretariat Complex, Ganderbal, marking the 77th Republic Day celebrations in the district. Extending warm greetings to the people, the DC said Republic Day is a reminder of the constitutional values that guide the nation and the responsibility of public servants to deliver transparent, efficient and people-centric governance.

He called upon officers to reflect on their performance and renew their commitment to public service. Addressing officers and officials, the DC described the past year as a challenging one, marked by tragic incidents, floods and cloudbursts. He appreciated the collective efforts of officers and field staff for their dedication and coordinated response. Highlighting major achievements, the DC referred to the successful conduct of the annual Kheer Bhawani Mela at Tullamula, held in the aftermath of the Pahalgam incident, which witnessed a large turnout and was also mentioned by the Prime Minister in one his speeches.

He also commended the smooth conduct of the Shri Amarnathji Yatra, calling it a demanding administrative exercise which was successfully managed through round-the-clock efforts and strong coordination.  The DC also highlighted progress in employment generation through Mission YUVA, promotion of Willow-Wicker artisans under the One District One Product initiative, advancements in agriculture, education and health sectors, and improvements in revenue services through digitization and the SVAMITVA scheme.

He emphasized upcoming infrastructure projects, including Road projects and Ganderbal town development, urging officers to ensure timely execution while maintaining quality standards. The ceremony was attended by senior district officers and officials from various departments.

On the occasion, a patriotic cultural programme was presented by local artists, which enthralled the audience, and received a huge round of applause from them.
