Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, today chaired a meeting of the District Level Committee (DLC) to review cases related to Change of Land Use (CLU) in the district. During the meeting, a total of seven CLU cases were taken up for discussion. 

Concerned officers briefed the chair about the parameters and criteria being followed for issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs). After detailed deliberations, four cases were approved, while three cases were kept under review for further examination and clarification.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed that unchecked and increasing construction activities could lead to a decline in agricultural production and environmental degradation. She emphasized that NOCs must be issued strictly after due scrutiny and verification, keeping environmental concerns in view. 

On the occasion, the DC further directed all line departments to ensure that NOCs are issued only after proper examination of each case. Emphasising inter-departmental coordination, the Deputy Commissioner called for responsible decision-making to balance development needs with environmental and agricultural sustainability.

The meeting was attended by Superintending Engineer, PWD Circle Bandipora; Sub Divisional Magistrate Sumbal; Assistant Commissioner Development Bandipora; Chief Agriculture Officer Bandipora; Chief Horticulture Officer Bandipora; Executive Engineers from REW/RDD Bandipora, R&B/Jal Shakti Sumbal and I&FC/PDD Sumbal/Gurez/Bandipora; District Officer, Pollution Control Board Bandipora; Tehsildars; Chief Town Planner Bandipora and other concerned officers. While, SDM Gurez, Executive Engineer SSD Gurez, Tehsildar Gurez and other concerned officers attended the meeting virtually.
