As part of the week-long celebrations commemorating 150 years of “Vande Mataram”, Phase–II, a series of plantation drives were organised across District Reasi today. The celebrations will continue till January 26, 2026. Deputy Commissioner, Nidhi Malik  launched a plantation drive at the DC Office Complex by planting a Terminalia Arjuna sapling, marking the formal commencement of the district-level activities under Phase–II.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the plantation drive symbolises a harmonious blend of patriotism and responsibility towards nature. "Such initiatives not only commemorate the historic significance of Vande Mataram but also strengthen collective efforts towards creating a greener and healthier environment”, she emphasized.

The plantation drive witnessed the participation of ADC, Rakesh Kumar, DFO Sunil Singh, ACD, Vijay Kumar and other district officers and officials. Similar, plantation drives were conducted across all subdivisions, tehsils, blocks and panchayats, as well as schools ensuring widespread participation and reinforcing the spirit of environmental conservation in consonance with the ideals of Vande Mataram.
