District Development Commissioner (DDC), Doda Harvinder Singh today chaired a review meeting to assess the progress achieved in the district under the Jal Shakti Abhiyan – Catch the Rain (CTR) initiative. The meeting was convened to reinforce effective execution of water conservation measures and to enhance inter-departmental coordination.

The DDC reviewed the uploading of the status report of ongoing and completed works on the Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari (JSJB 2.0) portal, emphasizing the importance of timely and accurate data entry for effective monitoring, transparency and accountability.

The DDC directed the concerned departments to expedite the uploading process without any further lapse. The DDC also stressed the importance of timely completion of work assignments under the Abhiyan, directing stakeholders to ensure strict adherence to timelines and ensure quality execution of works on the ground.

The meeting further reviewed awareness and outreach activities under the Catch the Rain campaign. Emphasis was laid on strengthening community participation, intensifying public outreach and conducting awareness programmes to promote rainwater harvesting, water conservation and sustainable water management at the grassroots level.

The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Project Officer ICDS, Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle, Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats, the heads of Government Degree Colleges, concerned Executive Engineers and other district officers. The Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Bhaderwah and DFO Social Forestry Doda joined the meeting virtually.
