District Kishtwar embarks “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore” campaign under Good Governance Week

The “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore” 5th Good Governance Week was launched across all 13 blocks of Kishtwar district today. Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma, along with ADC Pawan Kotwal, CPO and other officers and staff, gathered at the DC Office Complex to witness the live launch of this nationwide campaign, being observed from 19th to 25th December 2025.

The campaign has been designed to address public grievances, enhance service delivery and ensure citizen-centric governance at the grassroots level. The officers from line departments including RDD, Revenue, Health, AYUSH, Animal Husbandry, and others visited all 13 blocks as per the schedule notified by the District Administration to ensure smooth execution of the initiative.

During the campaign, officers actively listened to public grievances and assured on-the-spot redressal, while also disseminating awareness about flagship Central and J&K UT government schemes. These include the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana, Mission YUVA, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), and other government flagship schemes.

Citizens were also provided on-the-spot services and registrations, including the issuance of Ayushman Cards, Domicile Certificates and other essential revenue services. Reiterating the significance of Good Governance Week, the DC emphasized that the campaign aims to take governance to the doorsteps of citizens, reinforcing the principles of transparency, accountability and efficient public service delivery throughout the district.

As part of the initiative, the Department of Handicrafts and Handloom provided Flying Shuttle Looms along with complete accessories to the Handloom Weaving Training Center in Bounjwah which will significantly enhance the weaving capabilities of the trainees, enabling them to produce high-quality fabrics more efficiently.

The events were presided over by ADDC Vinod Kumar Behnal at Block Headquarters Mughal Maidan; SDM Dr. Amit Kumar at Block Headquarters Paddar; SDM Nayeem Ur Rehman at Block Headquarters Inderwal; ACP Neeraj Sharma at Block Headquarters Kishtwar; DSWO Tariq Parveaz Qazi at Block Headquarters Trigam; AD FCS & CA  Shafqat Ali Keen at Block Headquarters Bounjwah; ARTO Tasleem Wani at BHQ Drabshalla; CAO Kishtwar, Kushal Chandel at BHQ Nagseni and by other nominated officers at the others  Block Headquarters across the District.
